Therapy Lincs
Frequently Asked Questions
How do sessions work?

For online sessions you will need a reliable internet connection and a laptop or desktop to access Google Meet for the session. You will also need a secure setting where you won't be interrupted or overheard.
A first session will offer a chance to talk through what's brought you to counselling, to establish a risk assessment and to explore if there is a good match in what you're looking for with what the service can provide.
The end of the first session will be an opportunity for contracting and discussing further bookings, recommendations for the length and the modality of therapy.
Will my data be stored safely under GDPR guidelines?
Yes. Isobel Cheshire Relationship Therapy respects the data provided and takes the security of your information very seriously. Data is stored safely using a highly secure service and is not shared with any third party.
What is Relational Trauma Therapy?
Trauma counselling, or Trauma Informed Therapy, in the context of relationship therapy from 7 Swans Therapy Lincs, is for clients experiencing overwhelming and distressing memories. These sessions take place individually.
How can I set up an appointment?
Please click on the Interest in Sessions form and fill in and submit your details. This information is voluntary and need only be brief. It can help to avoid the expense of an initial assessment and determine if we're able to work together. Further information will be required on booking, for safeguarding and to frame the sessions under ethical guidelines. Do note that in some instances an appointment may not be possible and in these instances alternative routes to support will be suggested.
How do I pay for a session?
Once your form is received, if there is availability, you will receive an email with options for appointments and information about how to pay.
Sessions are confirmed only once payment has been received. Payment for future session is made at the time of booking.
Payment for an appointment can be made via bank transfer or using secure online payments systems like Stripe or SumUp. For block bookings, payment by bank transfer is required.
What is the cancellation policy?
You can move a session or cancel a session up to 48 hours in advance of the appointment.
Sessions can be moved but if the cancellation is made within this time the fee will not be refunded.
Why do you need my data?
Your name, address and date of birth are needed for any forms of counselling, even email counselling, as a standard ethical framework to practise. This ensures service insurance and also professional conduct procedures, such as good working practices as guided by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Any data provided will be respected and kept securely. Without this information it is not possible to provide a counselling service.
Can I do a combination of face-to-face and online?
Yes. The platform you choose for your sessions is at your discretion. It can be beneficial to engage in an initial session face-to-face, (dependent on availability) to help build a strong therapeutic bond and research shows the choices of how your counselling is delivered is determined entirely by your individual needs.
